We first met at a friend's holiday party, but it wasn’t until the after-party on the rooftop that we really connected. Dan tried to talk to me a couple of times, but I was busy chatting with friends. On his third attempt, we finally had the chance to talk, and it just clicked. We bonded over our shared interests, particularly Formula 1, especially the exciting final race between Dan's favorite driver, Max Verstappen, and the legendary Lewis Hamilton.

As the party went into the early hours and the Abu Dhabi race started in the Pacific, we decided to stay up and watch it together. Max won that night, and we celebrated, with me cheering alongside Dan for his favorite driver. After the race, we grabbed brunch and spent the rest of the day together. One thing led to another, and after a few dates and skiing trips, we made things official.

In the summer of 2024, we decided to take a trip to Greece. We spent a day exploring Santorini, and at the southern tip of the island, in front of a lighthouse, Dan got down on one knee and proposed. As he did, a single blue butterfly flew by, and it felt like Rosana, Dan’s mom, was right there with us. She had always wished to be reincarnated as a blue butterfly, and in that moment, it felt like her presence was there to bless the moment. We celebrated that night at Santos Winery, enjoying a romantic dinner at our hotel with live music.

The next morning, we took a ferry to Mykonos to continue our celebration, staying at a beautiful resort right on the water.
